About the Project
Introducing Beaver Bay Energy Center –
Clean Energy. Bright Future.
Beaver Bay Energy Center is a proposed 200 MW, four-hour battery energy storage facility in Chisago County, Minnesota, that will bring many positive impacts to the local economy and community. The Facility will store electricity that will be dispatched to the local electric grid during peak demand hours or during emergency outages and will be able to power the equivalent of approximately 28,000 Minnesota homes.
We look forward to working in partnership with county officials, local residents, and business owners on the development of this clean energy project.

Beaver Bay Energy Center is located in the city of North Branch, formerly Lent Township.
PROJECT FOOTPRINT
The project is expected to utilize approximately 15 acres.

Beaver Bay Energy Center will be a true “silent revenue generator” that benefits the entire community over several decades. These types of facilities generate local property taxes, which can help fund public schools and infrastructure. They will create approximately 150 local jobs during peak construction and some long-term jobs once operational. Battery energy storage facilities can also lead to long-term cost savings for consumers by lowering the overall cost of providing electricity and allowing customers to avoid paying premium pricing or “peak demand” rates.
